One of my best purchases August 30, 2010 R. WEINER (new jersey) We had a built-in coffee maker. It was a chore and never produced coffee that was better than tolerable. When it needed a new boiler, we trashed it and shopped for a new one, and for high-end countertop models. After much shopping, we were astounded by the quality of the cofee produced by the CitiZ. We also loved its simplicity and beauty. Although I had been grinding my own beans for years and had discovered favorites, and was resistant to the capsule products, we decided to try this product. We are very delighted and are not at all bored with the selections.
Fantastic espresso August 18, 2010 User in Stockholm Ive had mine for about a month. Amazing, worth every penny! I wish I would have bought one ages ago! The milk frother works like a dream!
Best wedding gift ever August 13, 2010 Kathryn A. Walker 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
My mom thought that I was crazy for putting a $350 espresso machine on my registry, but my husband and I love it. We have enjoyed tasting the different capsule blends and deciding which ones we like best. At about 70 cents per cup (with milk or cream and fixin's) it is much cheaper than going to the local coffee shop and so convenient and easy. It is not the very best espresso coffee I have ever had (I have spent some time in Seattle, Oregon and France) but it is heads above the burned grounds I have payed $4 for before. If you love a cappuccino but know you will not take the time before work to do it the old fashioned way, or if you live at altitude and have had issues with your machine not maintaining pressure, this machine is a definite must!
Yet another happy customer August 8, 2010 Benjamin Stansbury (New Mexico) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I am sold. This machine makes a great cup of espresso, Latte, Cap, etc. This thing is simple to use. Pop in the pod, press the button. Done. No clean up. The milk frother is also amazing. Rinse when done and that's it. Pods are quite pricey as some have mentioned. Our house hold spends about 3$ a day on pods. 90$ a month is still cheaper then what we were spending at Starbucks though. It's really convenient though.
Monthly Cost and Recipes- I have been experimenting with our machine for only about a week. My wife and I both like Lattes. She likes a 16oz Latte in the morning. It takes 2 pods to make it strong enough for her. I like my lattes very strong though and I have to use 3 pods. This is just to show you how pricey it can get with this system. I am writing this in my review for those that are on the fence like I was that will be buying this as a money saving device. If you like lattes or drink a lot of coffee everyday, do not do what I did which was calculate that you would spend about 1.80 a day in pods.
Overall- The Nespresso system kicks A S S!
Great Machine but the Stand Alone unit was better for me. July 28, 2010 sunshinestate consumer (Orlando, Florida) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I give the Citiz itself 5-stars. I love this machine. It produces great espresso, at a low cost compared to a cafe or Fivebucks. I tried a traditional pump espresso maker and it is just too much hassle for my needs. I love espresso but I am no barista, nor do I care to be, and I don't want to spend a half an hour making it and cleaning up in the mornings. Nor do I want to spend a thousand bucks on a decent machine and more importantly, grinder. The Nespresso coffee is outstanding, with a dozen different flavors, and the sheer ease and speed at which I can produce them is insane. Unbelievably convenient with no mess.
My only issues with this particular unit is the footprint. The Citiz was designed with the urban consumer in mind, limited counter space while still embracing functionality and style. When you purchase the Citiz with Milk, the espresso machine is attached to that base unit along with the Aerochino. And while the machine is still great, it's space conserving design is rendered completely useless. Furthermore, where my Espresso machine lives, the frother is more convenient on the left side of the machine, which isn't an option with this combo. So I returned this unit to Amazon, who is always a pleasure shopping with and handling returns from my experience. I then opted for the Citiz stand alone unit, and separate Aerochino. I found a bundle at W&S that Amazon didn't seem to offer. Also, if you go the separate Citiz and frother route, the stand alone frother seems a little bigger and better. It also has a handle, and you can store it wherever you want.
