| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Although "The Gripper" bamboo cutting board has the superior characteristics of hardwood products, the bamboo used to make it is actually classified within the grass family. This makes it a fast growing, naturally renewable material with the same level of durability as the hardwood products. Environmentally sound, the bamboo cutting board has a food grade laminate that ensures food safety. Clean as you would any wood cutting board. Like other Gripper products, this cutting board also has tiny grippers on the bottom that help prevent slipping as you work.
Amazon.com Review Architec is hopping on the green bandwagon by implementing eco-friendly elements in both its manufacturing process and end products. One of their new lines consists of products made from bamboo. A quick-growing grass, bamboo is renewable and tree-saving, with many of the same attributes as wood. The Gripper cutting board, for example, made of laminated strips of bamboo, is strong and durable, won't absorb moisture, and won't harm knives. The glue used in the lamination process is food-safe. Soft rubber pads, securely anchored beneath each corner without glue, grip the 11-by-14-inch board to the counter to prevent slipping during use. After use, simply wash The Gripper by hand. Look for other sizes of Architec bamboo cutting boards, as well as innovative cork cutting boards. Removal of cork bark doesn't hurt the tree, which keeps growing and producing more bark. All good news for the planet. --Ann Bieri

dishwasher safe, compact, and does not slide around on the counter top. Exactly what I have been looking for.
good price, not a great primary cutting board March 20, 2010 BA (USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a nice cutting board for the price. However, I wouldn't use it as my primary cutting board (there are better options for that).
PROS:
Gripper feet are very nice.
Very affordable.
Light.
CONS:
Too thin, prone to warping.
Perhaps quality control isn't real good.
How it holds up remains to be seen.
The one I received is actually warped a bit and it doesn't sit stable on the counter (it wobbles). However, since I bought it for a specific task I am not completely disappointing. I won't bother returning it since getting one that doesn't wobble is probably like rolling the dice.
I own a bunch of cutting boards (many of them are bamboo, it is my favorite) and if you are looking for just one cutting board or a new primary board then go for an end grain board instead. If you are looking for a cheap second board to do a specific task, this one is pretty nice, it has a nice price tag, and allows you to stick with bamboo.
great little cutting board February 25, 2010 J. Wood (San Bruno, CA) I'd never had a bamboo cutting board before. I do love it. And it is aesthetically pleasing, which makes me even happier. I rubbed it with coconut oil...seems to be completely free of any staining so far. I like having it out on the counter....
I liked the look and bought on the reviews. February 16, 2010 Barry White (Haverhill, MA USA) Something not mentioned about the gripper feet is that they are not simply rubber plugs placed in the corners as I had imagined. They are substantial triangular pads with multiple plugs on each. A superior design for sure.
Just enough height to get a hold of it when you need to.
For me the ideal size and weight, a pleasure use and to look at.
bamboo board February 4, 2010 Ollie Dog (IA) This is my first bamboo cutting board and I like it just fine. The price was very reasonable and I love the grippers on the bottom.
