The Bodum Pavina double wall cooler glass is 12 ounces in size and can be used for cold or warm beverages. Its unique design is appealing to the eye when filled with your favorite beverage. With its double layer of borosilicate glass it appears as though the liquid is 'floating' within the glass. They will not sweat when filled with a cold beverage, so you will not have to use a coaster. The double wall creates a thermal effect, helping to keep your cold drinks cold and your hot drinks hot for longer periods of time. These mouth blown glasses are an exciting product for any home, restaurant and cafe and they are a definite conversation piece. Bodumâs insulated glassware is made from durable Borosilicate glass. Borosilicate glass is a strong heat-resistant glass traditionally used to make scientific lab glass. Stronger than traditional âsoda-limeâ glass, borosilicate can be used for everything from drinkware to cookware. Borosilicate glass substitutes boron oxide in place of the soda and lime used in everyday glassware. The boron oxide acts as the glue holding the silicate together. Due to small size of boron particles, the glass is held together tighter, resulting in a stronger, lighter glass. Borosilicate glass doesnât need to be as thick as traditional glass to be just as strong due to the bonding capability boron oxide. Borosilicate is simply a different type of glass that is resistant to temperature swings and scratching. Because the particles are held together so tightly, borosilicate glass is resistant to temperature swings, In addition to being dishwasher safe borosilicate will not become cloudy over time; you can rest assured that after 1,000 cycles, the glass will be as clear as the day you bought it.

I bought these glasses after using similar ones at a bar in D.C. They are beautiful (important to me) and work as they are supposed to. . .they keep things cold or hot without condensation on the table. My husband says it is the perfect beer mug. I have read that these are easily breakable. In the three weeks I have had them, I have been careful not to throw ice into them, (I put the liquid in first) and I am hand washing them to avoid dish-washer collisions. At $15 a glass, I am taking care of them, the same way I would crystal, but I use them all day, every day for ice tea and coffee and I just love them.

I own six of these glasses and use them on an almost daily basis.
Pro: these glasses work exactly as advertised, keeping drinks nice and cold. They are also comfortable to hold and drink from. They are also quite sturdy - I have had two of the glasses after more than a year's constant usage.
Con: the sides are very shallow so it is easy to slosh liquid out of them whilst moving around.
Note: I do not recommend the larger and taller 12 oz. glasses Bodum Assam Double-Wall Cooler/Beer Glass, Set of 2 as they are too fragile.

I love the way these glasses look. The liquid inside seem to float, which makes for a very attractive presentation. I also love that they are so versatile -- they can be used for both hot and cold liquids, and can go into the fridge and microwave.
But I do have concerns about the failure rate of the little plastic valve on the bottom of each glass. The valve regulates the pressure between the two layers of glass.
I ordered 4 sets [a total of 8 glasses]. The first time the glasses were washed, the valve on one of the glasses allowed water to get trapped between the layers of glass. Amazon immediately sent a replacement set, but I encountered the same issue with one glass in the set as well -- water got trapped between the glass layers during first washing. So, out of a total of 10 glasses, 20% failed the first time they were washed.
Bottom line -- as much as I like the concept and the looks, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'll have no more problems with leakage.

Glasses were delivered on schedule. Glasses work as advertised. They keep the drink colder or warmer with no condensation on the outside of the glass. Great for outside and inside.
